Nepal celebrated the 67th National Cooperative Day on April 2, 2024, under the theme "Cooperative for governance, technology, and integration." Cooperatives organized various events throughout the nation, showcasing their pivotal role in community development.
In Budhanilkantha Municipality, the Cooperative Section arranged a rally from Golfutar to the municipality office, followed by a formal program to release the book "Sahakari Darpan." Over 300 participants attended the event held at the municipality office's assembly hall, where dignitaries delivered speeches and a discussion session addressed queries from cooperative representatives.
Shree Janasuchana Swavalamban Paryavaran Samrakshyan Cooperative Ltd., established under the 'Womenpreneurs4Plastic' project by the Rural Self-reliance Development Centre (RSDC), actively participated in the festivities, highlighting their dedication to community development in Ward No. 2.
RSDC, recognizing cooperatives' significance in achieving Nepal's socialist goals, has played a crucial role since 2053 B.S. in fostering cooperative development nationwide. Despite challenges, cooperatives remain integral to poverty eradication and socio-economic transformation, even during crises like the COVID-19 pandemic.
While cooperatives continue to thrive, challenges persist from selfish groups seeking personal gain. Vigilance and collective efforts are essential to strengthen the cooperative movement and ensure continued empowerment. RSDC extends its best wishes on this occasion, urging cooperative workers to remain dedicated to advancing the cooperative movement.
