Members of the Environmental Conservation Cooperative nurtured under RSDC's 'Womenpreneurs4Plastic' project in Budhanilkantha Municipality Ward No. 2, demonstrated remarkable dedication on Earth Day. Ward Chairperson Rajendra Shrestha joined the event, voicing his full support as cooperative members spearheaded clean-up efforts.

Under the leadership of RSDC and in collaboration with Budhanilkantha Municipality Ward No. 2 and the Environmental Conservation Cooperative, the clean-up aimed to raise awareness about plastic pollution's harmful effects, aligning with this year's theme, 'Planet Vs Plastics'. Recyclable waste collected during the program will be sold, furthering sustainable practices and highlighting the cooperative's environmental commitment.

Additionally, the Earth Day event aimed to increase awareness of plastic pollution's adverse impacts on human and environmental health. It also emphasized the promotion of environmental conservation and sustainable development, rallying public support, and advocating for action against pollution.

During its inception in 1970, 20 million people rallied in the USA, raising issues about environmental conservation. This year marks the 54th Earth Day since then, with over 1 billion people from 193 countries celebrating this day annually with various programs, highlighting the global commitment to environmental protection and sustainability.
